About the role
The Medium-term Perpetrator Accommodation Service (MPAS) is an accommodation-based service for perpetrators of family violence. This initiative seeks to optimise victim survivor safety by:
- providing alternative accommodation for perpetrators who are excluded from the family home or supporting those residing in high-risk tenancies (separate from the victim survivors’ accommodation) to stabilise and maintain their tenancy
- engaging these perpetrators in programs that focus on behavioural and attitudinal change
The key objective of the Specialist Tenancy Manager position is to work as part of an integrated family violence team with VACSAL staff to provide a coordinated and safety led response to individuals within the MPAS program.
As the successful candidate you will Extensive experience in Tenancy Management within the housing sector, preferably in the Private Real Estate sector and/or social housing. With natural empathy for those experiencing poverty and homelessness, you will deliver professional and genuine support to our consumers. You will have the ability to work within established agency guidelines, policy & procedures to deliver quality professional services and an extensive working knowledge of the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act 1997 If you are happy to roll up your sleeves to manage your own day-to-day activities, whilst supporting the success of the wider team this will could be a position for you!
