St Patrick’s Community Support Centre (St Patrick’s) is a specialist homelessness service which has been working side by side with vulnerable people in Fremantle and the wider south metropolitan region for almost 50 years. St Pat’s delivers a range of specialist, evidence-based services designed to break the cycle of homelessness and disadvantage, including housing, health, welfare and emergency relief and social inclusion. St Pat’s Support Services work with families and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Specialists work with people relevant to their individual needs, which can include:
- working in public spaces with people to engage them in services and monitor their ongoing health and welfare,
- assisting people to access long term, stable housing,
- providing ongoing support to people once they are housed to reduce the likelihood of them falling back into homelessness.
About the role
St Patrick’s Community Support Centre is seeking to employ a Support Services Manager with an exceptional track record of leadership and management. You will lead a team of senior workers/ team leaders of frontline assertive outreach and housing support funded homelessness programs. You will work collaboratively with your team, as well as the broader St Patrick’s management group, to deliver on an innovative and bold strategic vision aimed at ending chronic homelessness in our community.
About you
This role is accountable for all aspects of the homelessness support services including staff supervision and leadership; as well as management functions including overseeing the reporting, contract compliance and oversight, budgeting, compliance, risk management, health and safety, and general administration; and ensuring a coordinated approach across relevant St Patrick’s support services teams to successfully achieve a quality, effective and seamless service delivery.
The role is accountable for ensuring services operate effectively to:
- Reduce the impact for homelessness
- Improve housing outcomes
- Promote choice and dignity.
- Improve health and well-being.
Candidates will need to hold qualification/s in relevant areas such as community services/social work/social science and be able to demonstrate significant experience working in the homelessness or related sectors.
They will also need to have a high standard of personal integrity and professionalism with exceptional interpersonal, influencing skills and problem-solving skills.
You will also need to provide the following compliance documents if successful in the role:
- National Police Clearance.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per current state legislation.
