About the organisation
Nature Glenelg Trust is a regional environmental not-for-profit with a cross-border focus. Much like the Glenelg River from which we take part of our name, our organisation focal area straddles the border between South Australia and Victoria. However, recent expansions in our operations mean we now have 23 full to part-time staff and a dozen casual staff located across SA, Victoria, NSW and Tasmania.
We are celebrating out tenth birthday this year and after a recent period of growth we find ourselves in need of assistance to bed down our business and governance systems and functions. The Business Operations Manager is an exciting new position for our organisation and we are keen to get started.
While we have a particular focus on wetland restoration and aquatic species, but we also undertake a range of projects with our stakeholders focused on threatened species recovery, monitoring and survey, community engagement and citizen science, weed management and hydrological restoration of wetlands. We own and manage a number of restoration reserves in our focal regions.
Our motto says it all - "Regional, Focussed, On-ground"

About the role
The Business Operations Manager is a new role, joining our management team. The position will oversee our business support functions including administration, HR, finance and work health and safety. The position will work closely with our management team to provide support to staff and our Board, to help ensure the successful and efficient operation of the organisation.
Ideally, you will have had experience in a similar role, in a similar sized business or not-for-profit organisation. You’ll need to be a people person and a good communicator, because our staff are widely spread across four states, and cultural fit is very important to our organisation.
You may have come from a finance, administration or human resources background but you have a good grounding across all of these, or the willingness to have a go. As a new position, the Business Operations Manager has the opportunity to help us develop and standardise our business functions and processes across the organisation.
Ideally you are located in either Mount Gambier or Warrnambool, where we have offices, but given the possibilities offered by technology and the geographic spread of our team, other locations (including a home office) will be considered. We offer flexible and family friendly working conditions and part-time hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
