The Development team is part of External Relations, Development and Alumni portfolio (ERDA) and comprises approximately 40 dedicated, collaborative and highly-regarded development professionals. ERDA sits within the Office of the President and Vice-Chancellor and includes alumni relations, communications, fundraising, external engagement, donor programs, and community engagement activities for the University, nationally and internationally. Reporting to the Director, Development Services, and leading a small team of 3, the Senior Manager, Donor Relations will lead the development of the donor relations with collaboration, creativity and excellent systems to underpin best practice fundraising. This includes gift confirmation, implementation and processing functions to meet the scale and demands of a philanthropic program that has demonstrated significant growth. Robust policies, procedures and compliance, together with effective systems will be essential to enhance positive donor touch points including proposals, acquittal and impact reports, acknowledgement and recognition, and engagement events.
  
Relationships are the cornerstone to ERDA’s success, and you will implement a comprehensive stewardship program that enhances donor engagement and contributes to the retention and growth of philanthropic support. Creativity, strategic thinking and project management will be essential to deliver meaningful events, moments and behind the scenes experiences that connect the hearts and minds of donors to Monash University.
  
About YOU

  • Relevant experience in major gift fundraising, or transferrable experience (ie, private banking)
  • Highly organised and creative to deliver engaging events that will engage, connect, surprise and delight donors
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, and ability to operate effectively in a large and complex organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise, consult and negotiate confidently and professionally with external and internal stakeholders, across ERDA and the broader University
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE or membership of Fundraising Institute of Australia is highly regarded
