Due to the growth and expansion of the Wellbeing Support Service for Older Adults (WSSOA) Program Star Health are seeking to recruit a Psychologist Team Leader.
The successful applicant will provide counseling and psychologically tailored therapeutic interventions to older adults/ residents living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns.
The Team Leader will also provide structured clinical supervision and guidance to Senior practitioners of the program and take part in program-related tasks.
The successful applicant will be required to attend and work independently from a cluster of RACFs located in Port Phillip, Stonnington and Glen Eira. From time to time consultation and possibly travel will be required to provide sessions to clients in Bayside, Kingston, Frankston, Dandenong, Casey & Cardinia.
Please note: This position maybe offered as part-time (min 0.8 EFT) to an appropriate candidate
Ideally, you will possess:
- A professional qualification in Psychology (AHPRA registration essential).
- Experience in working with elderly clients and/or mental health, counselling. Minimum of 5 years of counselling experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to Senior Psychologist Practitioners and students.
- Excellent knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions & individualised strategies for treating older adults.
- A clear understanding of counselling and service provision using a recovery oriented mental health framework.
