The Organisation

The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways for protecting children, guide best practice responses and pathways to healing for survivors, and reduce the harm it causes.
  
The National Centre is a joint venture between Blue Knot Foundation, The Healing Foundation and the Australian Childhood Foundation with initial funding from the Australian Government. The three organisations have united to form an Australian-first partnership that will commission critical research, evaluate interventions and therapeutic programs, raise community awareness, reduce stigma and provide training.
  
The National Centre will give voice to the experiences of survivors of all ages, life stages and communities. It will work in collaboration with survivors, major research institutions, representatives from state and commonwealth governments, service providers, schools, and law enforcement agencies.

The Role
  
Reporting to and working closely in collaboration with the Board of Directors, the CEO drives the strategic implementation, and operational leadership of the National Centre. The CEO has a wide range of responsibilities and accountabilities that contribute to the overall achievement of the National Centre’s objectives and to promote revenue and growth as an organisation.
  
The CEO will lead and drive the vision and national strategic direction of National Centre. Leading the Executive Management Team, they will ensure high quality and innovative delivery of all strategic objectives around prevention and survivor recovery to meet or exceed all quality, performance, outcome, and financial targets.
The CEO will have the knowledge and qualities to respectfully manage and forge constructive relationships internally and externally to deliver an environment in which the skills of staff and the founding organisations are valued, leveraged and integrated.
  
The role will lead and direct the business development, financial sustainability, knowledge management, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, research and evaluation functions. It will achieve optimal prevention and survivor recovery outcomes so that children are safer from the harm of CSA and survivors can recover from its effects and effectively use human resources, knowledge and assets, to do so.
  
This position requires a high level of understanding of, and sensitivity to, public policy issues relating to child sexual abuse, complex trauma, and working respectively with victims and survivors of child sexual abuse across the lifespan.

Skills Required
  
You will have demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting and decision making, with a proven track record in reporting, generating new revenue streams and driving financial sustainability. This will sit alongside experience in health promotion, research, evaluation and/or primary prevention. 
  
Exceptional relationship building skills, including the capacity to build and maintain professional relationships and partnerships, a strong capacity to lead contractual negotiations and foster ongoing collaboration with external agencies are critical.
  
You will possess a Bachelor or Masters’ Degree in relevant discipline or MBA, and have more than 10 years’ experience in senior management within the not for profit sector.
  
Prior work in the child safety, child protection, victim/survivor sectors will be looked on favourably as will an appreciative understanding of issues affecting First Nations Peoples.
