About the role

The National Redress Scheme facilitates survivors of institutional child sexual abuse to connect with the responsible institution, receive access to counselling and a direct personal response. Our role will be to build awareness of and facilitate better access to the National Redress Scheme for people who are receiving treatment services for substance use disorder from Tweed Heads to the Hunter Valley. Applicants may not be in a Buttery program, but they must be seeking treatment in other Alcohol and Drug programs within the catchment areas.  

 

About You

Your role is to support participants to access the Redress Scheme and provide counselling support (if required) to those who are accessing the Redress Scheme. This will be done either by telephone, video conferencing of face to face when available. Your networking and negotiation skills will ensure effective services and support are available. You will have a person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone’s capacity to self-determination with and beyond their current circumstances.

Selection Criteria

A current and valid manual Driver’s Licence is required. A satisfactory current Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement.

 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services
  2. Demonstrated experience counselling in AOD, MH or related field
  3. Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed care
  4. Demonstrated experience providing case management for persons with complex support needs
  5. Demonstrated experience promoting and educating stakeholders and building networks
  6. Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft suite, a variety of databases and video conferencing tools such as zoom.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equal employment opportunity, legislative compliance and workplace health and safety

This role is remunerated depending on qualifications and experience between $88 – 90K pro rata inc super with access to salary packaging to increase your take home pay. The role is funded to 30 June 2023.
