The Organisation

Construction Charitable Works (CCW) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the CFMEU ACT. CCW provides a wide range of welfare and support services for CFMEU members within the building and construction industry, their families and the ACT construction community. CCW provides workers and their families confidential, professional and first response counselling to those involved in near misses or accidents and referral to a range of specialised mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

The Role

Reporting into the General Manager and working within a close knit, fast paced team, your main purpose will be to continue to drive sustainable increase in donor revenue, manage funding opportunities and stakeholder relationships. In this role you will help build a sustainable organisation ensuring its charitable mission of providing counselling and support to construction industry participants and their families.  You will generate new leads and contribute to existing sponsor partnership activities, fundraising opportunities, secure new sponsorships and oversee event management.

Additionally, you will:

  • Liaise with stakeholders, including construction workers, government and industry bodies
  • Complete governance requirements and associated administrative tasks
  • Provide staff leadership and supervision
  • Deliver tool box talks, run regular fundraising events and on-site BBQ’s
  • Provide administrative support to the business and limited financial delegations,
  • Manage on-site vending machines with a focus to increase the number of machines

  
Skills Required

To be successful in this role you offer solid general administration and well developed organisation skills, experience in project management, networking and developing relationships with external stakeholders. A background within the NFP sector desirable, coupled with a genuine commitment to supporting revenue growth within a mental health-based organisation.
Additional skills you will offer include:

  • Experience in an environment communicating with mental health or disability clients advantageous
  • Confidence and presence to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to manage priorities and work autonomously
  • Flexible, mature and team focused mindset with a measured approach
  • Current driver’s license and a willingness to drive for the role
  • A working with vulnerable people check and police check are required
