About the Role 

Nutrition Australia is seeking a passionate and experienced Program Manager to lead and manage the delivery of an exciting new initiative, the “Whole of School Healthy Eating” Program (WOSHEP) in Western Australia. The role will report to the CEO and be part of the senior management team. 

The Whole of School Healthy Eating Program, an initiative funded by the Government of Western Australia, Department of Health will establish a state-wide advisory and implementation support service for all schools across WA. This comprehensive service will be an all- in- one- place service where the whole school community – leadership, teachers, canteen and food service staff, students and families including professionals supporting schools will be able to access tools and resources that will build their capacity to create and sustain healthy school food environments.   

 

What you would do 

Your key accountabilities and deliverables will be to: 

  • Recruit, lead and manage a skilled local workforce, with focus on building a positive team dynamic and cultural integration with Nutrition Australia
  • Develop, implement and manage WOSHEP’s project plans ensuring all team members understand their roles in achieving set outcomes;
  • Establish and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure support for the WOSHEP and organisational objectives including taking a lead engagement role with the Department of Health, Department of Education, Western Australian School Canteen Association (WASCA), Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia, Federation of Canteens in Schools (FOCiS), National Canteen Network and Refresh.ED;   
  • Be responsible for monitoring and reporting requirements to the Department of Health, Senior Management and the Nutrition Australia CEO and Board;
  • Procure and manage external service contracts and ensure all obligations are met and continue to meet the objectives of the program.  
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation plan; 
  • Act as the WOSHEP public spokesperson.  
  • Contribute to the future strategic direction of Nutrition Australia

 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and innovative Program Manager who has experience in developing a team, program management and exceptional stakeholder/partnership relationship development capabilities.
