Reporting directly to the Senior Manager People & Culture, this key role leads a small team of HR professionals and has day-to-day responsibility for the ongoing HR function. In addition, the role of the Senior Human Resource Business Partner will lead the operationalisation of HR initiatives, the development and maintenance of robust HR frameworks, as well as act as the first point of contact for staff and line managers in all respects of People and Culture matters. It will also be the custodian of MA’s HRIS system, ensuring ongoing system improvement and accuracy of its data content.
  
To be successful in this exciting and impactful role, you will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an HR generalist or operational role.
  • A strong working knowledge of HR and IR functions, including employment lifecycle management, performance, culture and safety. 
  • Experience in the use and administration of contemporary HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating a team to deliver consistent and high-quality HR services within a busy, operational environment.
  • Experience in employee relations and investigation processes.
  • Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and the ability to interpret industrial instruments.
  • Dynamic relationship building skills and ability to confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Experience managing organisational Workplace Health and Safety and Rehabilitation.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of WHS frameworks, policies, strategies and procedures that support compliance and quality improvement. 
  • Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

The following is also essential:

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology or related discipline;
  • Possession of, or willingness and eligibility to obtain, a current, paid Working with Children’s Blue Card in accordance with the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000, and
  • National Police Clearance Check;
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
