• Lead a team of dedicated support workers to assist people affected by violent crime
• Opportunities to travel and engage with stakeholders across the Hume rural region 
• Option to work a hybrid home/office arrangement (Wangaratta office site)
 

You will be responsible for:

The Hume Victims Assistance Program is funded by the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and is part of a network of agencies across Victoria that provides services to victims of violent crime against the person.  As Team Leader, you will oversee the day to day running of the program and provide supervision and support to front-line staff.   You will coordinate and provide intake and casework support to victims of violent crime and contribute to community education and partnership building for the program across the Hume rural region.

 

To succeed in the role you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent as determined by Merri Health.
• Extensive experience in supporting and counselling clients who have been either victims of family violence, sexual abuse or other types of violent crimes. 
• Experience in providing clinical and line supervision.
• Experience in program leadership in the human services field.
• An understanding of the issues for people affected by crime.
• The ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with a range of services including DJCS, sexual assault, family violence, Victoria Police and support services.
• Ability to plan and manage time effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).

**Please note that this program is based in the Hume rural region, not the City of Hume local government area.  The program is based at the Merri Health site in Wangaratta.
