About the organisation
Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation (CHFF) is an independent charity established in Australia in 2012 to raise funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, in Ethiopia. For more than six decades Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia has focused on the treatment and prevention of one of the most horrific childbirth injuries – obstetric fistula.
Dr Catherine Hamlin was a pioneering Australian surgeon whose work for women with obstetric fistula in Ethiopia continued uninterrupted for more than half a century. Today, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia (HFE) is a healthcare network of over 550 Ethiopian staff servicing the major hospital in Addis Ababa; five regional hospitals, Desta Mender rehabilitation and reintegration centre, the Hamlin College of Midwives and 50 Hamlin-supported midwifery clinics. Hamlin is the reference organisation and leader in the fight to eradicate obstetric fistula around the world, blazing a trail for holistic treatment and care that empowers women to reassert their humanity, secure their health and well-being, and regain their roles in their families and communities.

The role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to manage and lead CHFF staff and activities to raise funds and awareness for HFE within the Australian, USA and Canadian markets.
Reporting to and working closely in collaboration with the Chair and Board of Directors, the CEO of CHFF drives the mission and strategic direction of CHFF and leads the management team to ensure high quality and innovative delivery of all strategic objectives to achieve revenue growth.
