The role is an exciting opportunity to lead a community research project delivered in partnership with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute!

The aim of this project is to improve outcomes for children and their families living in social housing. The Community Research Officer will work in a participatory and collaborative way with families living in social housing and local service providers to undertake an action research project focused on the First 1000 Days of child development.

Ideally, you will possess:

  • A professional qualification or equivalent experience in community development, social sciences or public health
  • Experience in delivering community research projects
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake planning of community research, engage with diverse communities in community research, manage relationships with multiple stakeholders and undertake collaborative projects
  • Excellent knowledge of community research methods, Codesign principles and early childhood development, including the First 1000 Days
  • A clear understanding of Trauma-informed practice, social housing in Victoria, the antenatal care, and child and family services sectors
