The Information Technology (IT) team manages and provides support and services for information and communication technologies to all Cancer Council divisions. The IT team plans, implements, and maintains the infrastructure of computing, telephony and communication hardware, software, applications and network components, and will deliver the technology to support the Digital Vision of Cancer Council. In addition, the IT team includes a Digital services team, Data Analysis and Project Management Office (PMO).
Our customers include Cancer Council Staff and Volunteers, Board and Committees, our Donors and Supporters, Funders and Researchers, as well as our State and National Cancer Council partners.
About the role
About your opportunity
We are seeking a Full-Stack developer to join the Digital Services Team. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services your role is to:
- Be proactive, propose solutions and influence architecture decisions for Cancer Council Victoria Digital product
- Participating and contributing on various aspects of software development: architecture, frontend, backend, automated testing, and deployment.
- Building and deploying web application product focusing on js and leveraging PWA architecture
- Integrating data source (using APIs) into presentation and experience layer
- Utilising design system to maintain build and interaction consistency across the site
- Designing and integrating Google Analytics custom event and tracking
- Crafting testing procedures to ensure functionality, analytics tracking codes are accurate before deploying.
- Creating visually rich, interactive, and responsive user experiences across multiple platforms
- Ensuring presentation layer are mobile-first and responsive
- Participating in agile project team to deliver required feature and functionalities
- Collaborate effectively with service designers, product owners and Subject Matter Expertise across different division in identifying and developing best digital product
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Relevant tertiary degree in Computing or related field and/or experience in Web Development
- Strong development skill on Node.js, React and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong integration skillset using REST-based services
- Have a strong experience in building React/PWA applications
- Experience in developing responsive front-end web and/or mobile applications using frameworks such as Next.js, Material-UI or similar frameworks.
- Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- High level of programming and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willing to work with new and learn new technologies
- You have overall experience in a software engineering role (front & back-end) to equip you with a holistic development architecture
Desirable criteria:
- Interest or experience with Git and GitHub.
- Interest or experience with implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of WCAG standards.
- C# is beneficial but not essential.
- Interest or experience with Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
