About the role

Support for our clients involves providing them with assistance to live as independently as possible, develop skills or access the community.

As part of our team based in Boronia, we are looking for casual Support Workers to assist our male clients with complex and varied behavioral, intellectual, mental health, and AOD support needs in homes and communities.

If you’re a Support Worker, qualified as either a Cert IV in Individual Support (or equivalent) and/or combined with relevant experience, and want to have a positive impact on the lives of people in your community, you might be exactly the person we’re looking for!

Who we are looking for

You will bring substantial and demonstrated experience in managing complex behavioural support plans for clients who may have dual or multi diagnoses including intellectual, mental health concerns, and AOD plans, and exhibit additional behaviour of high concern.

Along with your passion for supporting others, you will:

  • Hold a Cert IV in Individual Support (or equivalent) and/or combined with relevant experience
  • Be an effective communicator and natural relationship builder
  • Have experience delivering high-quality person-centred support and assistance to individuals that embraces their personal goals and choices, and respects cultural diversity
  • Have a demonstrated ability to complete administrative tasks to the required standard and detail to meet quality and reporting requirements
  • Ideally hold a current state-based Driver’s License with a registered vehicle

What you’ll be doing

You will be working closely with a small team on a rotating roster and to ensure a smooth client plan across a 7-day roster.

No two days will be the same in this role, with the support you provide including, but not limited to:

  • Following and implementing individual Behavioural Support Plans to assist our clients to maintain independence and achieve identified goals such as cooking, social engagement, personal care, budgeting, shopping, domestic skills, maintaining tenancy, using public transport, attending appointments etc.
  • Work with therapists and allied health professionals to ensure needs are met
  • Providing support services to male Customers with complex needs, helping them to build confidence, self-determination and communication abilities.

As well, you will be supported by our Peer Leads who have lived experience within your role and will support your day-to-day role as well as ongoing development.
