About the organisation

Organisation Name : Scotch College Adelaide

Scotch College Adelaide is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for students in ELC to Year 12.  It is located on two adjacent campuses in Torrens Park and Mitcham in the inner-southern suburbs of Adelaide.  Founded in 1919, Scotch has over 1150 students and more than 250 staff.

About the role

Philanthropy has been a successful and integrated pillar of Scotch College’s strategic plan for many years.  Recently, the College’s DARE Today annual Giving Day raised over $700,000 in a 24 hour period, coming immediately after the successful completion of the $10M DARE Centenary Campaign.  This is an achievement to be proud of and one which shows determination, commitment and investment, not only from College leadership, but also from teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, alumni and the extended Scotch College community.

After this outstanding success, there is now an exceptional opportunity to lead the philanthropic endeavours of the College as Director of Philanthropy.  With a focus on careful cultivation and sophisticated solicitation, you will be an experienced practitioner who can work at the highest level, including with the Scotch College Foundation Board and the Scotch College Council.

The successful candidate will require experience in philanthropic fundraising, ideally in major gifts which will have been gained in the education or broader not for profit sector. Robust stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credible relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, while being mindful of historically held relationships with the community among current staff will be integral.
