Mandatory COVID vaccinations

In line with Victorian Government mandatory vaccination requirements for the health and community services sectors, and OHV's Mandatory Vaccination Policy, all Odyssey House Victoria staff are required to hold full vaccination status, and effective as of 1 March 2022, to have also have received the Booster Vaccination. Evidence of such vaccination status will be requested during the onboarding process and offers will be rescinded where such evidence cannot be provided.

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE), Permanent
  • Based at Richmond (Head Office)
  • $80,000 – $90,000 (neg), plus super

About the role:

The Executive Assistant & Policy Officer role provides high level administrative, project, and policy support to the Chief Executive Officer. The key purpose of the position is to provide responsive and efficient support to the CEO, enabling effective communications to be maintained with key stakeholders, and to assist with the coordination of strategic project initiatives and the development of policy positions across the organisation.

A week in this role:
If you were here last week, you would have

  • Monitored the CEO’s emails and organised a range of key executive meetings.
  • Drafted communications to a range of key stakeholders for the CEO
  • Helped prepare Board reports
  • Provided secretariat support for the Board’s Policy & Practice Committee meeting.
  • Supported a range of current project initiatives including the Environmental committee and the Rainbow Tick accreditation process
  • Helped us develop a submission to a government enquiry or revised a policy on drug law reform.

Who are WE looking for?

We are looking for a values-driven and experienced individual to provide high level administrative, project and policy support to the Chief Executive Officer.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have demonstrated experience in providing high level executive support and/or project management
  • Be able to produce accurate and timely written work, including meeting minutes, agendas, reports, policies and procedures, and critically analyse and evaluate written and verbal information
  • Be highly organised and have capacity to prioritise and coordinate a range of activities
  • Possess strong information technology skills in a range of software packages including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be able to self-regulate and self-monitor one’s own behaviours in a team setting, and display a commitment to realistically assess personal strengths, limitations, biases, and effectiveness, and remain open to feedback and constructive criticism
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance and application of inclusive practice when working with people from diverse communities, such as cultures, genders, sexualities, bodies, abilities, spiritualities, ages and backgrounds
  • Possess a current Victorian Driver’s License
