About the role

We are seeking a values driven, experienced professional to lead and manage our high functioning Gender Equity and Capacity Building team. Reporting to the CEO, this position has key responsibilities for policy, advocacy and practice in prevention of violence against women and gender equity with priority projects in workforce developments and training and the shEqual project (addressing gender equality in the advertising sector). As a member of the Leadership team, you will also contribute to the strategic development of WHV and the achievement of WHV’s Strategic Priorities.

Your approach:

You are proactive, accountable (for self and others), people focused and inclusive, to advance the health of Victorian women across key portfolio areas.  You are natural collaborator and effective communicator who actively shares ideas, information and resources to achieve positive outcomes. 

 

As the Manager, Gender Equity and Capacity Building you will operate within a supportive and structured environment and will need to:

  • Be an experienced strategic leader and program and people manager 
  • Have experience developing and delivering innovative health promotion and capacity building initiatives
  • Have a sound understanding of women’s health, gender equity and prevention of violence against women
  • Have highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Be willing to work within a feminist framework 
  • Have post graduate qualifications in public health, social policy, gender studies or similar
