About the organisation
Lifestart provides disability support services to children and young people; listening to and working together with individuals, their families and carers to ensure each participant’s journey enables them to be part of their community and to participate and thrive in everyday life. They do this by employing a person-centred approach and skilled committed staff who come from a variety of disciplines.
Lifestart operates in Greater Sydney, the Central Coast and the Illawarra/Shoalhaven region, as well as online, and despite the challenges that have faced the disability sector in recent years, the organisation has had an impressive decade, under the leadership of their current Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Their brand is strong and trusted and has attracted committed and capable staff to deliver on their strategic plan. The organisation is looking forward to shortly moving into new premises at Rhodes. Funding is secure with some programs for the foreseeable future, and there is potential for growth.

Working with a small but engaged Board, the next CEO has a solid platform from which to realise opportunities for growth. Lifestart is looking for an experienced executive with a transparent and collegiate leadership style; a strategic thinker who can also engage effectively with a range of stakeholders including participants, families, carers, community and business partners and government. An understanding of service delivery in the human services space is essential. A business mindset is required – an appreciation of the scale, commerciality and amount of change involved with the NDIS is important, as well as an astuteness in responding to that in ways that benefit the business while retaining a quality person-centred service. The CEO will share the Lifestart philosophy that places the person with a disability at the centre of all decision making and planning and will lead and represent the organisation with integrity and empathy.
