About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Werribee Mercy Hospital is a public hospital providing comprehensive care to the growing community of the West. The role of the Deputy Divisional Director is to lead, coordinate and implement site specific current and future change initiatives required to deliver a future state that is aligned to and consistent with Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Health’s strategic and operational direction and values. In addition to leading the supportive and dedicated team, key performance measures also include clinical outcomes, customer experience, financial performance and redevelopment of the site.
The Deputy Divisional Director is a pivotal role in supporting the Divisional Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Deputy Divisional Director will be responsible for the following:
- Responsible for supporting the Divisional Director to ensure the successful achievement of all operational, financial and performance goals for Maternity & Children’s Services at WMH whilst embedding a culture of continuous improvement to meet business and organisational priorities.
- Lead major business and operational improvement projects across Maternity and Children’s Services as nominated or directed by the Divisional Director. This will also involve leading service developments and policy reviews in areas impacted by key performance and operational issues. This will be achieved through excellent leadership, resourceful management and visible role modelling.
- To work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive change and improvement by supporting and influencing both the Maternity and Children’s leadership team and broader site leadership teams.
- To deputise for the Divisional Director and work closely with the operational leadership team to ensure the safe and effective day to day operations of the division are maintained
ABOUT YOU:
- Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered midwife and/or nurse
- Extensive experience in managing a maternity and children’s service preferably at a senior level within a large, complex healthcare or other relevant organisation
- Demonstrated experience in change management, operating model re-design, complex transformation and improvement initiatives
- Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in a management stream (desirable)
