About the organisation

Organisation Name : Thorne Harbour Health

Thorne Harbour Health is a community-controlled LGBTI organisation, governed by our members, and working for our sex, sexuality and gender diverse communities.

For 35 years as the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC), the organisation led the Victorian community’s response to HIV and AIDS.  Our work has now moved beyond Victoria, and Thorne Harbour Health is responding to a broad range of issues. Thorne Harbour Health aims to improve the health, social and emotional well-being of LGBTI communities and those living with or affected by HIV, with a particular emphasis on bringing the HIV and AIDS epidemic to an end.

About the role

About the program

The Therapeutic Services and Capacity Building Program (TS&CB) provides specialist services to the LGBTIQ+ community and people living with HIV, combining our counselling, alcohol and other drugs, family and intimate partner violence services and education and training programs.

About the role

This role is your opportunity to join a progressive organisation and great team at Victoria’s largest LGBTIQ+ community-controlled health service. THH is seeking a skilled health service professional to join our Alcohol and Other Drugs team in a new role that provides medium to long term AOD Intensive Case Management to members of the LGBTIQ+ community in Inner Melbourne and the Inner West.

This position is an exciting opportunity to help design and deliver community-led, culturally-safe and tailored AOD responses for LGBTIQ+ community members with complex needs. Sitting in a multidisciplinary team and within an integrated community health setting, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of both PLHIV and LGBTIQ+ community members. The role works to create positive behavioural change through the delivery of evidence-based therapeutic individual support to AOD clients.

With excellent clinical support, professional development opportunities and a highly competitive salary, this will be a richly rewarding role for the right person. We offer generous salary packaging and a commitment to quality improvement.
