About our Lower Plenty, Therapeutic Community (TC):
OHV’s adult residential rehabilitation program at Lower Plenty provides live-in treatment for individuals, couples and parents with their children (aged 0-12 years old). Operating as a therapeutic community, the values-based program provides a structured environment where up to 143 residents and 30 staff work together to help people make changes and choices on their pathway to recovery.

Senior Family Services Clinician
- Full-time (1.0 FTE), Maximum term contract until 30 June 2024
- Based at Lower Plenty
- $79,136 – $85,149 (neg), plus super

About the role:
The key purpose of this position is to support the Family Services Team Leader in implementing programs and standards, modeling clinical best practice, and promoting TC values amongst the Family Services team, and resident families. The Senior Family Services Clinician performs duties of a specialized nature based on acquired expertise in the field. Supporting the effective operations of the Family Services program, the Senior Family Services Clinician ensures the clinical functions pertaining to this program are carried out effectively. The secondary purpose is to support the Family Services Team to maintain a trauma informed approach that is guided by Best Interest principles and delivers a high-quality program, demonstrating an awareness of the children and families from the alcohol and other drug sector.
Key areas of focus:
- Assist the Family Services Team Leader to:
- Implement change and promote a culture of best practice, that at its core focuses on Child safety
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review children and family clinical practice.
- Provide regular reports on family progress, including both adults and children.
- Develop and implement clinical initiatives and reviews.
- Actively in the planning and implementation of treatment and other activities.
- Assist in the supervision of therapy team reviews, case reviews and other relevant meetings.
- Facilitate group therapy and individual counselling sessions.
- Conduct client planning groups to develop individual recovery plans (IRPs).
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of program modules.
- Liaise with DFFH, Orange Doors, and other key stakeholder working in the children and families’ sector
