About the role
To support the CEO and Lead team drive the implementation of the organisation’s strategic direction and manage the finance, administration, logistics, human resources, legal and Project Management Office of ABV.
The Director Corporate Services role is a member of the ABV Leadership Team, responsible for the ABV’s office and organisational operations. This role oversees the Office Manager, Finance Officer and administrative staff (excluding the Executive Assistant). The position is integral in ensuring there is administrative and operational support to the Program Management teams.
The Director Corporate Services will directly liaise with and be responsible for managing the relationships with the external Finance, IT, Insurance and Building Maintenance and HR functions. The position is also directly responsible for the management of the ABV compliance register.
The role has a particular emphasis on financial management and the efficient operation of the Project Management Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
The position forms part of the Lead Team, responsible for the overarching implementation of ABV’s corporate functions.
- Maintain an Operational Risk Register
- Designated Workplace Health and Safety Officer
- Maintain all operational policies
- Maintain the compliance register and all associated activities as delegated by the CEO
- Management of all administrative functions in the IT, Finance and Insurance and HR functions
- Building Management
- Advise staff on the design of program budgets and ensure all staff have the financial management skills to manage budgets in line with the program management cycle.
- Establish the financial management framework of ABV, including setting the annual budget
- Providing financial data and supporting the CEO, Board and Finance Committee through regular financial reporting
- Management of ABV Payroll function
The Director Corporate Services is also responsible for the management of the corporate functions of ABV including payroll, travel, IT, corporate contracts, legal matters and risk including all insurances. Working with the CEO and Lead Team to review and implement ABV’s strategic direction;
- Ensuring the sound financial management of ABV in accordance with agreed budgets and regulatory requirements;
- Setting the financial management of ABV by developing and maintaining the appropriate policies, procedures and delegations, and supporting staff in their implementation;
- Ensuring compliance with requirements of funding bodies and the acquittal of those funds in line with funding agreements, particularly DFAT;
- Managing organisational contracts, including travel, office lease, insurance, and IT.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Work in compliance with the ABV Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL) Framework.
- Provide relevant data, analysis and reporting to support ABV’s evaluation reporting.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Strategic planning and implementation
- Strong financial management experience at a senior level, preferably as a Chief Financial Officer and/orCPA
- Strong experience in managing a team and mentoring staff in financial management practices
- Stakeholder management across government, the private sector and the not-for-profit sector
- Corporate governance, including experience supporting a Board or related governing body will be highly valued
- Proven skills and experience in partnership brokering and management; with acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and developing small teams of staff, with a commitment to mentoring and capability building.
- Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, and oral and written communication skills with the ability to achieve buy-in from all stakeholders and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship building and management with extensive experience across a range of sectors and contexts.
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation as a team player, working collaboratively and supporting others to achieve.
- Comfortable working online and competent in use of online collaboration and project management tools.
- Able to work remotely from manager, independently with a high degree of autonomy.
- Able to work flexible working hours from time to time to meet the needs of the business
