About the role
An exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team at Australia’s largest integrative healthcare clinic as the Head Nurse/ Senior Practice Nurse. Overseeing the Registered & Enrolled Nurses and Specialist Technicians this hands-on role is based in Hawthorn and reports to the Executive Manager, Clinic Operations & Clinical Director.
THE ROLE
The Head Nurse/ Senior Practice Nurse will lead and participate in the delivery of treatments and complementary therapies such as an IV infusion clinic, a hyperbaric oxygen suite and hyperthermia therapy (Heckle tent) within NIIM Health.
This is a hands-on role is responsible for clinical staff supervision, rosters, and providing clinical advice to the medical administration team, liaising with Integrative GP’s and allied health professionals, as well as ensuring that all documentation, systems and processes are adhered to as part of AGPAL accreditation.
The role also has nursing care responsibilities in the provision of treatment in the IV Clinic, patient assessments and practice support duties. Ensuring patient quality and safety is key component of this role including infection control and managing the escalating care as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor of Nursing with minimum of 3-5 years postgraduate experience
- Strong clinical leadership skills
- Ability to build a shared understanding of, and commitment to NIIM’s Mission and Values
- Current unrestricted Nurse Registration with AHPRA Division 1
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience, knowledge and clinical skills in delivering intravenous, PICC line, port and/or medical-surgical experience
- Willingness to undertake training in hyperbaric and hyperthermia treatments
- Understanding of the principles of Integrative Medicine within a GP clinic setting
- Experience in or willingness to contribute to NIIM Clinic attaining General Practice AGPAL Accreditation
- High degree of computer literacy. Knowledge of Best Practice and MS Office – highly advantageous
- Work collaboratively with all colleagues including assisting the team with nursing and other duties
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within a budget
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Be flexible in work hours at times to meet the reasonable demands of this position
- Be willing to undertake travel as required with the position
