About You:
As the Business Development & Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new and impactful opportunities the organisation can monetize, suggest best marketing practices and determine the best customers to approach. This role is newly created, and it acts as an instrumental key for assisting the organisation become self-sustainable so they can continue to upskill their stakeholders, inspire their partners and support young people to succeed.

You could either be working in the commercial sector and are seeking to utilize your new business development, consulting and strategy skills in a new way, or you are currently working in the not-for-profit sector and are seeking a role that combines your strategic thinking and aptitude for marketing, with your fundraising and presentation skills.

This role will require you to:

  • Assist the Senior Manager and business units to identify business opportunities by researching, analysing and scoping both existing and new business ideas
  • Research and identify social trends (both locally and internationally) impacting young people in areas such as education, mental health, well-being, social inclusion, professional progression, and others deemed relevant
  • Prepare business plans and proposals to present to philanthropic and government institutions
  • Develop a framework around the existing consulting arm of the organisation and determine new opportunities to monetise consulting services
  • Support the Senior Manager to execute and track the business growth strategy

    

The Candidate:
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous or current experience in a philanthropic/fundraising, new business development or consulting role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in areas of Business Management, Marketing/Communications, Philanthropy/Fundraising, Commerce, Entrepreneurship  or similar
  • Experience in developing new business opportunities and identifying ideal customers, including developing new business strategies
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • An understanding or exposure of marketing, and how to market new ideas in a commercial way
  • An understanding of the not-For-Profit sector by either working for not-for-profits or consulting to them
  • An ability to innovate and think creatively
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • An ability to relate to professionals at all levels
  • Sound research and analytical skills
  • A genuine passion for empowering young people, and for social change

    

The Offer:
A salary package of up to $109K plus superannuation is on offer (commensurate with experience) along with attractive NFP salary packaging. This role is currently being offered as an 18-month fixed term contract with the potential to extend to a permanent placement.
