Steiner Education Australia (SEA) is the peak body for Australian Steiner schools, providing a national voice to promote and support Steiner education in Australia. Steiner education is recognised as a highly valued approach to helping young people to develop flexible, agile thinking alongside an ability to collaborate and thrive in a 21st century world. SEA exists to support and strengthen Steiner education, and taps into a network of over 1,000 Steiner schools across the globe including over 50 in Australia.
The CEO will lead the SEA team to achieve optimal outcomes, and ensure sound leadership is in place across the organisation to provide excellent service, support and programs. Building and maintaining highly effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and networks will be essential, and span across government and non-government agencies, Steiner schools, internal teams, and the broader community.
Visionary leadership, credibility, integrity, strong relationships and collaboration will be essential, along with the ability to represent a broad cohort, advocate for and to uphold the principles, values and ethos that underpin Steiner Education. As CEO of SEA, you will oversee the delivery, governance and compliance aspects of the Steiner Curriculum Framework in Australia. Building sustainable and respectful relationships with SEA membership through listening, connecting, learning and meaningful engagement will be essential, as well as the ongoing delivery of events, conferences, content, projects and opportunities for innovation, creativity, networking, professional development, mentoring and continuous learning.
About YOU:
- Authentic and empathetic leader with commitment to the delivery of a high quality Steiner education,
- Understanding of legislative and compliance frameworks under which Australian Steiner schools operate and
comply with relevant requirements and reporting, - Proven leadership and/or management of strategic planning, developing policy and curriculum, and providing
educational leadership (ideally in a Steiner context), - Previous experience in managing operations in a school, not-for-profit or membership-based organisation,
- Capable of building and maintaining highly effective and constructive relationships and teams, with a high level of
communication and interpersonal skills among diverse stakeholders, - Alignment to SEA’s values – collaboration, inclusivity, diversity, initiative, respect of the spiritual nature of the human
being and the developmental stages of of children and young people and creative and contemporary expressions of Rudolf Steiner’s work.
