About the role

Service Design Leader

Chrysalis is a newly established Transformation Hub supporting Key Assets Australia (KAA) to lead and innovate the development of services that deliver better outcomes for children, young people, and families across Australia.
This is a rare opportunity to help build Chrysalis from the start and realise the potential of product, service and system design and social innovation to transform culture, change the course of a large organisation and to realise the vision and outcomes for big social impact.
The successful candidate will be motivated by the change they want to make in the world, the importance of human centred services to children and families and invested in building systems level change and impact.

The successful candidate will lead the Chrysalis team in building Chrysalis from the ground up, defining and delivering innovation projects and design initiatives, and building human centred design as a key capability for the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a senior CX designer, or service designer. Excellent working knowledge of human-centred design (HCD), design thinking and design methodologies and principles
  • Experienced at senior level and seeing design projects through from end to end however also enjoy being on the tools
  • Practical experience in designing, conducting and guiding customer research activities
  • Extensive skills in facilitation, codesign workshops, capability building
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to change and keep working towards defined goals whilst also knowing when to pivot
  • Emotional intelligence with an ability to listen, be curious and empathise with an ability to influence
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability with outcome focused solutions
  • Comfortable working in Agile environment and rhythm
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management and design process management
  • Collaborative and can manage others to deliver projects
