In this role you will be responsible for developing and leading organisational strategy including strategic projects and initiatives. Additionally, a major focus of this role will be a whole of business transformation program, ensuring that required resources (human, financial and operational) are deployed to meet project timelines. The emphasis will be on balancing sustainable client focussed strategies and value-added impact against risk to the organisation. This role will also be accountable for business planning, government relations, research, innovation and providing an integrated external and internal marketing and communications function that meets the needs of current and future clients and employees.
You are a high performing strategic leader with exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills and a demonstrated ability to be tactical and pragmatic in the delivery of strategic imperatives. You will have experience working closely with organisational executives and Board members during planning cycles. Position Profile
Position Purpose:
To provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Executive Group and the Board with regards to organisational strategy, business planning, government relations, research, innovation, marketing, fundraising and brand position. This role is also responsible for developing the framework for communications and media relations and new product offerings to enhance and protect Scope’s reputation. The organisation is currently progressing through a significant redesign program to further strengthen and align our operating model across Scope. To compliment this process, a major focus of this role for FY23 – FY25 will be ‘Amplify’, a whole of business transformation program, consisting of major projects and initiatives.

Service Provision
Transformation
- Accountable for all aspects of Amplify, a whole of organisation transformation program, consisting of a portfolio of complex interdependent projects and initiatives, over an initial period of two-three years.
- Understand the ePMO project profile and act as the bridge between the ePMO team and our operations. Ensure prioritisation of required resources to meet project timelines.
Organisational Strategy
- Lead organisational strategy and oversight.
- Guide the strategic direction for Scope by leading the development of the long-term strategic plan
- Responsible for translating the Strategic Plan into key operational deliverables
- Ongoing provision of high level strategic insights
- Lead strategic projects and initiative, including the Amplify Strategy, working with other Executives to ensure One Scope alignment.
Business Planning
- Drive business planning activities, overseeing an effective and efficient process to focus all divisions on delivery of budget.
Government Relations
- Accountable for ensuring effective advocacy for Scope and our clients and for providing the structure and messaging to ensure effective interactions with government across the organisation.
- Accountable for intelligence gathering and dissemination as well as managing and coordinating the submission of tenders and submissions.
Research
- Accountable for Scope’s research function to ultimately provide better outcomes for Scope clients and the sector overall.
- Responsible for ensuring research remains financially viable by obtaining relevant grants and funding, and potentially monetising research products.
Innovation
- Accountable for improvement partnerships to support sustainable improvement in a shared learning environment,
- Responsible for collaboration with customers and the wider business to understand complete user needs with a focus on developing propositions that will generate value.
Marketing and Communications
- Accountable for the development and implementation of the long-term strategic plan for Scope’s brand, marketing and communications offering, including the consolidation of current marketing functions.
- Accountable for providing an integrated external marketing and communication service that meet the needs of current and future clients and provide an internal communication service for employees.
- Accountable for developing end-to-end integrated marketing strategies that effectively support the regionalisation of the marketing capabilities.
- Work closely with Executive team to understand and address impacts on our market offerings.
Fundraising
- Accountable for the development and implementation of the long-term strategic plan for Scope’s fundraising activities.
Financial Outcome
- Responsible for the budgetary and operational expenditure of the Strategy and Transformation division to ensure it’s ongoing sustainability.
- Measure and manage financial and cultural transformation metrics and goals.
People Leadership
- Work closely with the CEO and fellow executives to develop an organisational culture and change program that will support Scope to deliver on its strategic goals.
- Through effective leadership, team development and recognition of achievement, drive performance management across the Strategy & Transformation division to enable delivery of activities that support the organisations short and long term objectives.
- Support a people management culture that is underpinned by EEO and human rights, builds employee resilience and inclusion, and also recognises its Duty of Care responsibilities towards clients and employees.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications & Knowledge/Experience
Tertiary qualified, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
The incumbent must have proven leadership experience at the executive level in a similar sized organisation. Deep knowledge and experience in a human services environment would be highly regarded.
