The Organisation
Based in the CBD, Jobsbank is an independent, Victorian-based not-for-profit organisation, who look at individual business needs, tailoring solutions to increase employer inclusivity and fill workforce gaps. They work closely with government, and non-profit partners to create full-service business support that makes socially inclusive employment easy and sustainable.
The organisation is now looking for a Senior Advisor, Research & Advocacy to support the organisation in this time of growth and change, the role creates opportunities to amplify the work and impact of the Jobsbank team and its partners. It helps create a wider understanding of inclusive employment and social procurement for a range of audiences, and centres Jobsbank as a central source of credible, authoritative information and resources for business, government, the social sector and beyond.
The Position
In this newly created position, you will report directly to the Communications, Marketing & Evaluation Manager. The initial focus will be to embed Jobsbank as a foremost voice in social procurement and inclusive employment by developing research partnerships and translating internal and external research into products, services and campaigns that provide value for businesses, government, hidden jobseekers and the social sector.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing research partnerships that support Jobsbank’s strategic plan and activities.
- Developing and managing evaluation frameworks for Jobsbank’s employment pilots and programs and providing reports to the Leadership Team on an ongoing basis.
- Lead the expansion and maintenance of the Jobsbank Resource Centre, including managing digital and research contractors, undertake ongoing Social Procurement Framework policy research, and identifying key areas of research in the Social Procurement field to add to the Centre.
- Strategic evaluation of existing research and translation of data into key messages for a range of audiences.
- Identifying key issues for advocacy campaigns; remaining up to date on current social procurement and inclusive employment research and policy, identifying research and policy gaps and providing advice and/or relevant documentation on same.
- Supporting the adoption Jobsbank’s Theory of Change across the organisation and its Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework.
- Prepare and deliver editorials and articles and support the communications team in preparation of media releases and other comms and marketing activities (media briefs, CEO briefs, speeches, etc.)
The Person
- To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in research, media, or communications
- Knowledge of labour market trends and employment skill shortages
- Understanding of the diversity and inclusion sector
- An understanding of how digital campaigns informed by research and evidence-based storytelling can make a profound difference
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Strong administration skills and the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
