ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an opportunity to join our friendly and supportive Admissions Team in the role of Admissions Coordinator. The Admissions Coordinator position is funded by the Department of Health and aims to make it as easy as possible for a person and their family to get the help they need with alcohol and other drug concerns. The role will oversee the admissions process into the Wangaratta Therapeutic Community and enhance our service provision capacity by offering high-quality, evidence-based admission care to clients seeking residential treatment. You will be ultimately responsible for receiving and assessing all referrals, ensuring a robust intake process occurs including providing brief interventions as appropriate to support clients seeking admissions and present admissions data to the clinical review team.
This role is integral in providing leadership, driving change, and implementing initiatives which will lead to improved efficiency, accuracy, resource utilisation and service delivery which support the therapeutic communit y’s needs and the client’s journey. The position provides the key point of contact to assist in the provision of the accuracy of patient admissions in accordance with accreditation, standards and relevant legislation. Along with liaising and networking with external referrers in creating an understanding of our services and processes. Prior to admission coordinate a client risk management plan in preparation for admission and ongoing treatment.
The Admissions Coordinator will work closely with other staff in the AOD team to provide a flexible, responsive service to achieve the best possible recovery outcomes for clients.

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualifications in health-related fields such as social work or other related disciplines.
- Demonstrated understanding of admission and administrative procedures and patient management system in an acute private, public or community health setting.
- Proven ability to monitor, apply corrective actions and maintain the highest standards of professional behaviour, service quality and customer service.
- Excellent attention to detail with high quality standards.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced time management and organisational skills.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills
