Our Client, The Leprosy Mission, is an International Christian organisation which helps people affected by Leprosy.
Founded in 1874, The Leprosy Mission is the largest leprosy-focused organisation in the world today and is an International federation of 30 member countries, and supports more than 200 projects in 21 implementing countries. Working together with supporters, staff and partners, they’re not only providing a cure to those people affected by leprosy but also giving hope and dignity so they can transform lives.
The Chief Executive Officer is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the management of all aspects of The Leprosy Mission Australia’s (TLMA) affairs. Being the principal adviser to the Board of Directors they ensure TLMA is effectively resourced and structured to achieve its agreed objectives and strategic plan.
As the leader of the staff and volunteers, you will drive significant projects and programs aimed at growing the reach and impact of TLMA, develop deep and ongoing relationships with donors, collaborators and other development organisations, facilitate and encourage prayer support, and represent the organisation at senior levels to government, to the community, to Australian churches, and to the Global Fellowship.
In this role you will also;
- Work with the Board to design and run the planning process to deliver the five-year strategic plan for the Mission.
- Provide significant thought leadership to the board, to the community and to government regarding leprosy and development.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to drive a culture of excellence in the organisation.
- Provide significant spiritual depth and direction to the Board, to the organisation and their supporters.
- Work with the Board to scope, shortlist and implement a new CRM system in the next 18 months.
- Ensure TLMA Social Enterprise business continues to evolve and be best in class in all its activities.
You will be a visionary leader who has the experience and technical skills to take people on a journey to achieve the vision and the strategic goals of the organisation.
We are looking for a leader who is strongly aligned to the ethical behaviour and Christian ethos of the organisation, who has the proven leadership ability to inspire and influence others, to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, including major donors, funding bodies and Government and is experienced in working with a Board of Directors.
You will possess integrity, be highly organised, strategic, have sound business and financial acumen, and have the ability to engage people in the work and mission of The Leprosy Mission Australia.
You have a good understanding of finance, compliance and risk for an organisation of their size and complexity and have a solid understanding of cross-cultural ministry, fundraising and International community development. Your knowledge and understanding of the Not-for-Profit sector and interdenominational Christian missions in Australia and overseas will be highly regarded for this key role.
