About the role

Editors – Australian Prescriber

Australian Prescriber is an independent and free, evidence-based information QUM resource, bridging other independent resources and providing contextualised medicines information. Australian Prescriber supports critical reflection on decision-making, and provides an in-depth, practical and applied critique and discussion on a broad range of topics addressing the intersection of quality use of medicines, diagnostics and pathology.  Now that Australian Prescriber will be published by Therapeutic Guidelines Limited, we are seeking two Editors to join our team, one full time and one part time.

 

The Ideal Candidates

We are seeking individuals with a Post Graduate Qualification in either pharmacy, pharmacology, medicine or health sciences, and at least 3 years work experience in clinical care and publishing.  Further qualifications in writing, editing or publishing will be highly regarded. In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for the performance of key result areas of project management, content development, assisting and mentoring staff and leading activities to improve the efficiency of production processes.

 

As the ideal candidate, you also bring to either role health sector knowledge, a high level of computer literacy and expertise in the Microsoft suite of products, concise and clear text editing and communications to intended audiences, a sound knowledge of drug therapeutics preferably in an Australian setting, excellent communication and coordination skills, ability to analyse issues, implement corrective actions and overall, ensure the quality of publications before they are released.  Experience in performing literature searches and reviewing evidence, coupled with experience in project management with is also being sought.

  • Have well developed organisational and project management skills
  • Can set priorities and pursue tasks to completion within prearranged deadlines.
