The organisation

The position
Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, you will deliver policy advocacy for Aware Super in the industry and with government policy makers. You will lead policy positions and engage in forums to achieve outcomes for its members, while influencing policy direction. You will also be responsible for developing submissions to government inquiries, consultations and draft legislation at both Federal and State levels, as well as drafting legislation, in alignment with Aware Super’s priorities.
About you
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in policy development, research and development of strategic insights;
- Strong understanding of superannuation, retirement and advisory policy issues, environment and participants;
- Established networks in government and relevant industry, with a demonstrated ability to advocate and influence decision-makers;
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare concise and accurate reports and deliver to different audiences;
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks within projects or change initiatives;
- Proven track record and commitment to continuous improvement through individual development, identifying efficiencies where possible and demonstrating inclusive behaviours;
- Expertise in building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing each expectation and objective effectively; and
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously.
