Board Member – Voluntary

ARC Disability Services Inc. is the largest independent provider of disability supports in the Far North with a long history of supporting children and adults living with a disability, their families and support networks. We are seeking expressions of interest from members of the community to join the Board to provide and support organisational governance and strategy. If you are committed to making a difference and contributing your skills and expertise this may be the opportunity for you. Our strategic priorities of innovation, influence and improvement, guide our commitment to quality supports and services during a time of significant reform.

Our skills-based Board holds a range of leadership knowledge and experience across the health, community services, education, legal and finance sectors. Applications from experienced leaders with risk management, cybersecurity, communications or marketing expertise would be highly regarded.  

Role Summary:

This is a voluntary role, requiring preparation and attendance at Board meetings of 2 hours and held 4th Monday of each month 6pm – 8pm (hybrid meetings of in-person and online) and the Annual General Meeting held the first Monday of November. Attendance at other meetings and events over the year is encouraged.

The position requires 

• NDIS worker screening (Working with Children (Blue Card) and Disability Services (Yellow Card))
• Not be a ‘disqualified persons’ under the ACNC 
• Adherence to relevant vaccination requirements
