About the role

Executive Officer – Wildlife Network Tasmania Inc.

  • Independent contractor
  • Board support and project delivery focus
  • 24-40 hours per week, flexible terms

Wildlife Network Tasmania Inc. (WNT) is a not-for-profit incorporated association, established in response to calls from the wildlife rehabilitation sector for a statewide guidance and implementation body.  We work hand-in-hand with the wildlife rehabilitation sector, government and other partners to implement the community-led Tasmanian Wildlife Rehabilitation Sector Strategy & Action Plan 2022/24 and act as the peak body for wildlife rehabilitation in Tasmania.

To cement Tasmania’s position as the ‘Wildlife State’, WNT invites expressions of interest from independent contractors capable of providing administrative support and project delivery services.  Functioning as the organisation’s inaugural ‘Executive Officer’, this is an exciting opportunity to shape a better future for Tasmania’s unique wildlife and the people who rescue and care for them.

Working in close consultation with the Board and in collaboration with the broader community, the Executive Officer will facilitate delivery of our strategic action plan, drawing upon high level organisational and administrative skills to ensure that community needs and expectations are met.  A proven track record delivering operational plans is essential, as is the capacity to drive community and stakeholder engagement as an advocate for the organisation.

A strong outcomes focus combined with an inclusive and collaborative approach to project delivery is essential.  Prior experience or knowledge of volunteer involving organisations or community action groups would be an advantage.

Applicants must hold a current ABN, public liability insurance and must have superannuation arrangements in place.
