ACON’s Pride Inclusion Programs is looking for someone to support our Graphic Design and Brand Specialist for 3 days a week, producing engaging visual content across traditional and digital media for our programs: Pride in Diversity, Pride in Sport, Pride in Health + Wellbeing. This role would suit someone who has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role and will be based at our Surry Hills office in Sydney.

 

The Role

 ACON’s Pride Inclusion Programs are social inclusion initiatives of ACON. Programs include Pride in Diversity (LGBTQ workplace inclusion), Pride in Sport (LGBTQ inclusion in Australian Sport), Pride in Health + Wellbeing (LGBTQ inclusive service provision) and Pride Training.  This role sits within the Operations unit of Pride Inclusion Programs providing design and collateral for all programs and events.

We’re looking for a talented graphic designer to support the Design and Brand Specialist in producing engaging visual content across traditional and digital media. The role involves producing dynamic promotional and educational collateral with a primary focus on digital and social media.

 

Main Activities

  • Design corporate styled materials including newsletters, brochures, publications, reports and print advertisements.
  • Create digital content across a growing number of website and social media accounts, re-purpose print collateral for online use and assist with the development and implementation of online communication strategies
  • Work closely with ACON Studio team to ensure brand alignment with the broader organisation.
  • Design, develop and maintain brands inclusive of programmatic and event brands.
  • Ensure all programs have a consistent look while maintaining the integrity of each program.
  • Liaise with team members requesting design work in a collaborative manner to ensure that the intent of the job is clear while brand and alignment is maintained.
  • Maintain appropriate administrative records, ensure all current work is stored on the server and provide reports as and when requested.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to ongoing processes, team meetings, general staff meetings, quality improvement and professional development strategies.
  • Perform other duties to assist with the work of the unit as requested by your supervisor (or designate).
  • Maintain respectful and collegiate relationships with all members of the team.  

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar creative role
  • Sound knowledge of print and digital production standards and specifications
  • High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, meet competing deadlines and work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Exceptional eye for detail and commitment to accuracy particularly with typography and finished art
  • Confident and professional communicator, comfortable dealing directly with key stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Able to adapt to different design styles, work across multiple brands and uphold visual brand integrity
  • Present a strong portfolio of creative work you’ve led from conception to delivery across print and digital platforms
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to LGBTQ communities, particularly people living with

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe After Effects & Premiere
  • Knowledge of digital content marketing
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Graphic Design

Location: Based in Sydney.

Hours: The partime position is 21 hours per week.
