About the role

  • NSW Trustee and Guardian are recruiting now to establish a talent pool to fill future ongoing and temporary fulltime and part time vacancies within Estate Planning & Administration over the next 18 months.
  • Location: Regional, Rural and Metro NSWFlexible working options available and subject to negotiation.
  • Clerk Grade: 5/6 Base salary $89,707 pa to $98,982 pa plus super and annual leave loading.

 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Estate Planning & Administration Division within NSWTG.  The division delivers estate, trustee and attorney services in a professional, emphatic, proactive and timely manner.

 

Estate Planning & Administration – About the teams

The Estate Planning & Administration division is responsible for delivering NSW Trustee & Guardian’s commercial services in Will making, as trustee, attorney, and as administrator/executor of deceased estates. The teams administer assets in accordance with the functions and obligations under the relevant legislation and makes decisions within legal frameworks and NSWTG’s prescribed delegations. The division delivers professional trustee services using a customer-centered approach and is delivered by the following teams: 

 

  • Estate Administration  
  • Trust and Powers of Attorney Administration 
  • Intestate, Life Estates and Crime Confiscation/Civil Forfeiture administration 
  • Wills and Estate Planning  

 

We currently have talent pool opportunities across our Estate, Trust and Power of Attorney Administration teams. 

 

About the role

We have Senior Client Service Officer roles across the division and the role is responsible for the administration of deceased estates, trusts and powers of attorney matters in accordance with legal requirements and in a timely manner. As a Senior Client Service Officer, you will engage with various stakeholders such as banks, share registries, lawyers, superannuation funds, accountants, property services, insurance companies and other institutions and professionals in the administration of estates, trusts and power of attorney matters.  The role also involves regular communication with beneficiaries on a range of matters relevant to the administration of the matter.

Estate Planning & Administration – About you 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Sound understanding of the procedures and practices specific to the administration of Estates, Trusts or Powers of Attorney.
  • Good knowledge of the trustee industry and practical experience in the administration of Estates, Trusts and Powers of Attorney matters. 
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including NSW Trustee and Guardian Act, Succession Act, Probate and Administration Act, Powers of Attorney Act and Trustee Act.  
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills that will allow you to build & develop working relationships with all teams in the Estate Planning & Administration division, other NSW Trustee & Guardian divisions and external stakeholders.
  • Problem solving skills and be able to resolve different issues as they arise.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing interests and deadlines.
  • Accountability for the matters under your administration.

Essential requirements  

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent industry or professional experience in the administration of Estates, Trusts or Powers of Attorney.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Willingness to have phone calls and team email accounts monitored for quality assurance and training purposes, and to participate in one-to-one review sessions for calls and emails.
