About the role
Personal Care Workers provide in-home care services to the elderly and people living with a disability, to live independently in their homes. We can offer you a rewarding career as part of a dedicated team that put caring first. This role is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The pay rate is between $27-$31 per hour and is for up to 30 hours a week.
As personal care worker your role will be varied. In this role, you can expect to undertake tasks like:
- Cleaning and other domestic duties such as cooking meals or grocery shopping
- Assisting with overall client care such as emotional support and personal hygiene
- Coordination of other medical and care professionals to carry out work under care plans.
- Helping clients participate in sport or other wellbeing programs
- Monitoring and communicating client conditions
- Attending medical or personal appointments
- Transportation for the client
To be a personal care worker you will need:
- Critical thinking skills
- Monitoring and social perceptiveness
- Active listening and communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to follow direction but also show initiative
- Administration and attention to detail
Benefits offered:
- $500 retention bonus paid after 3 months of continuous work
- Flexible hours
- No weekend work or after hours. Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm.
- Casual and part time hours available
All candidates will need to have the following:
- Hold a minimum of Certificate 3 in Aged Care/Individual Support or equivalent.
- Both Flu and COVID19 Vaccination including a booster.
- Have a recent police check or be willing to obtain one.
- Must have own roadworthy vehicle, Driver’s Licence, and smartphone.
- Australian working rights.
