About the organisation
The Education CHANCES Foundation (ECF) was established in 2006, to provide financial assistance to students who live or study in Boroondara and whose families are experiencing financial hardship. ECF administers a scholarship program for talented and motivated young people who live or study in the City of Boroondara, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
About the role
We are seeking a General Manager – Operations and Programs, to work closely with the Board to implement ECF’s vision, mission, and strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and sound management to ensure ECF’s vision and goals are met.
- Growing and enhancing Education CHANCES brand, image, and reputation.
- Facilitating the maintenance of governance, compliance, and management systems.
- Expanding support networks whilst building and maintaining excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Working closely with the Philanthropy Manager and Treasurer to optimise income streams.
- Strengthening overall organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Working closely with schools within the City of Boroondara, to support the identification of young people with talent and motivation who are facing financial disadvantage.
- Developing and implementing application and reporting.
- In conjunction with the Philanthropy Manager, building ongoing and meaningful relationships with donors (large and small) to fund this activity.
About you.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in a similar role within a not-for-profit environment
- Knowledge of and experience working within the State education system will be highly regarded
- Strong relationship skills with the ability to lead team members and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and experience devising and delivering strategic outcomes.
- A passion for making a difference within the organisation and Boroondara community.
