The Corporate Services Division incorporates governance, finance, legal, risk, information technology, property and logistics. The focus of the Division is to ensure Cancer Council’s Corporate Services operate to the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness to ensure compliance and support the organisation to deliver on its Strategic Priorities. The Division also works to ensure the protection and optimisation of the Council’s financial and business assets, and reputation.

Part of Corporate Services Division, the IT team includes Digital services team, Operations team and the Project Management Office (PMO).

About the role

Join Cancer Council Victoria’s in-house digital team. This is your opportunity to showcase your front-end development and design skills to deliver better health outcome in cancer care through digital experience.

  • Base salary of $78,287 to $88,021 p.a. + super + NFP benefits

About your opportunity

This role is perfect for those who are looking for growth in their data career while also making a real difference for those affected by cancer.

Being a part of the centralised Digital Services team, your role will:

  • Co-design, build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualise data sets.
  • Explore data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies including data model optimisation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of statistical models and algorithms.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines for efficient ELT/ETL utilising cloud data warehouse platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to improve data quality assurance efforts to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvement and data-driven decision-making.

All about you

  • Relevant tertiary degree in Data Engineering or related field and/or experience in Data and Analytics role
  • Strong understanding of data manipulation, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Base salary of $78,287 to $88,021 p.a. (dependant on experience, pro rata for part time) plus 11% superannuation
