About the organisation
You Matter is a growing Victorian not-for-profit organisation that supports women recovering from family violence through setting up their homes with all the furniture and goods required for a fully functioning home.
You Matter aims to be a critical part of the recovery journey for survivors of family violence in Victoria, working with and supporting agencies working directly with women and children. You Matter works primarily in the eastern, northern and western regions of Melbourne.
We rely on an extraordinary, committed and skilled volunteer workforce of approximately 100 individuals to deliver our services, working alongside a small paid staff team.
About the role
You will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with referring service organisations and donors, ensuring the smooth and efficient establishment of havens for women and their children.
You will drive our fundraising strategy and the diversification of our income. You will also be responsible for the leadership and development of two staff and a team of volunteers.
You Matter is entering an exciting period with a clear strategy, and skilled and committed Board. The new CEO will have the opportunity to build on great foundations and make their own mark and deliver great outcomes for women and children.
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience will be negotiated.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this position you will:
- Have held senior leadership roles in for purpose organisations or commercial enterprises
- Possess experience working with relevant government and family violence agencies
- Possess a solid understanding of financial, budgetary and strategic management
- Ideally, have experience working with a Board
- Live and breathe our values of strength, community, integrity, respect and environmental responsibility
- Be passionate about our vision for women and children recovering from family violence to live safe and happy lives within their own homes and their community
- Have demonstrated experience in leadership and building constructive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Be a team player – leading and nurturing a positive, supportive and safe team environment
- Be flexible with an ability to manage through unexpected circumstances
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in public speaking and professional writing
- Be organised and have great time management and organisational skills
