Rainbow Club is a registered charity with over 50 years’ experience, helping children with a disability learn to swim and be safe in the water.   

 

We have over 77 clubs and 2,400 members in NSW and QLD, with plans to increase our footprint to meet the increasing demand from the community. We also employ over 300 qualified swimming teachers on a casual basis to provide personalised swimming lessons and aqua exercise to children and young adults with a disability. 

About the role

About the role 

The Grants & Partnerships Manager is responsible for all aspects of grants, sponsorship & partnership management across the organisation. 

You will be responsible for sourcing grant, sponsorship and partnership funding opportunities, writing applications and reports and managing all contracts.  

You will also work closely with the CEO, Board and Senior Managers to understand and reflect the needs of the organisations in all grant, sponsorship and partnership applications and reporting requirements and act as the organisation’s key contact and relationship manager with our valued partners. 

The role is full-time, WFH and applicants must be based in the Sydney. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Developing and delivering Grants, Sponsorship and Partnership strategies 
  • Developing and championing a pipeline of grant funders, sponsors and partners 
  • Undertake research to identify, develop and strengthen all potential sources of income from grants, trusts, foundations, and other philanthropic organisations for matching opportunities with new and existing program needs. 
  • Prepare and write grant high quality, grant applications, tenders and proposals, working with internal and external parties. 
  • Coordinate with relevant government departments and private sector organisations to secure an understanding of the grant application process and how the organisation can satisfy the necessary requirements per application. 
  • Work with the wider organisation to identify opportunities, to complete grant and other funding applications. 
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board on the status and outcome of grant, sponsorship and partnership applications and progress against financial targets. 
  • Build and steward strong working relationships with external funding bodies. 
  • Manage all acquittal and reporting expectations to external funding bodies, meeting deadlines and exceeding the expectations of the grant-maker’s conditions.  
  • Develop and maintain a centralised information database (funding register) to track grant, sponsorship and partnership funding opportunities available to the organisation. 

About you 

  • At least 5-10 years demonstrated experience in a grants, partnership, sponsorship and/or fundraising role with responsibility for successfully achieving targets. 
  • Proven success in writing funding applications, proposals, reports and donor-focused communications. 
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and securing grant funding. 
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Corporate Boards  
  • Knowledge of the Australian grants and philanthropic giving environment. 
  • Experience with using and managing donor databases/CRM systems. 
  • Prior contacts/existing relationships with corporate partners, governments, trusts & foundations. 
  • Excellent relationship management capabilities, with the ability to effectively steward relationships with external funding bodies and other stakeholders, building rapport and credibility quickly. 
  • Ability to work to deadlines, sometimes with tight timeframes, and work under pressure. 
  • Logical thinker with strong planning and organisation skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and team player with good presentation skills. 
  • Ability to distil complex ideas and volumes of content into simple, clear messages and concise summaries.
