About the role

The Marketing Coordinator sits within the Marketing and Memberships Team and is key to the promotion of the Australian Museum (AM). This role is offered on a temporary full time basis for up to 10 months with the possibility of extension.

You will be required to use your prior experience to develop and deliver innovative marketing campaigns to achieve ticket and revenue targets, audience targets, and build brand equity for the AM. This may include holistically developing and executing small to medium campaigns, supporting the successful delivery of major campaign efforts, leading key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and managing AM owned channels.

About You  

We’re seeking an experienced and creative marketer to join our passionate team to help tell the world about our wonderful galleries, exhibitions, events and scientific work.

You will be a collaborative team player with exceptional project management skills and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day brings a new challenge. Also importantly, you’ll love the art of marketing!

You will have:

  • Passion for digital engagement with the capacity to quickly master new platforms
  • A knack for developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive and motivation

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or a related field and/or equivalent experience.

Your Knowledge & Experience 

  • Proven experience in delivering integrated marketing and communications plans that meet audience, revenue and branding objectives.
  • Project management skills with the ability to think creatively, plan, collaborate and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in a complex organisation.
  • Strong communication experience, including written and oral skills, relationship management and negotiation skills.
