About the role

  • Part-time, 22. 8 hours, 3 days per week  
  • Permanent
  • Hybrid working, but State base location flexible 

The NDS Learning and Development Team Leader (LEN) provides leadership and support to the Lived Experience Network (LEN) who conduct the well-regarded “Let’s Talk Disability” training program on behalf of NDS. This includes providing support and development for individuals, along with building sustainable and effective processes for the smooth and efficient operation of the team.

In addition, it is crucial that our program remains of high quality and is regularly reviewed, maintained, and improved upon reflecting the feedback from attendees, movement and regulation changes in the sector, and upholding contemporary learning methods.

There is opportunity to grow the LEN within and outside NDS, so developing a scalable model is a key deliverable for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Lived Experience Network (LEN) to support and develop individuals to ensure each individual is operating at their full potential.
  2. Develop and review processes to maximise efficiency of the team and provide a scalable foundation for future growth.
  3. Working with the L&D Training Specialist, ensure the LTD material is maintained, and improved upon reflecting the feedback from attendees, movement and regulation changes in the sector, and upholding contemporary learning methods.
  4. Manage the roster and workshop calendar to ensure appropriate availability of team members and effective facilitation of LTD workshops.
  5. Working with the L&D Marketing Executive, assist with activity to drive demand for LTD workshops with existing and potential clients.
  6. Evaluate and report on qualitive and quantitative learner satisfaction data pertaining to the LTD program.
  7. Promote the LEN to internal stakeholders, identify opportunities for integration with NDS operations and projects.   Enable the inclusion of the LEN in other workshops, events and co-design opportunities. 

 

Other Responsibilities (applicable for all NDS employees):

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by manager/supervisor from time to time
  • Comply with NDS’s policies and procedures at all times, including (but not limited to) HR, Quality, Work Health & Safety (WHS), IT, Security, and Data Privacy
  • Demonstrate the NDS values of Build respectful relationships, Lead change, Deliver clarity & impact, Support and develop others and Embrace diversity.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and managing L&D training, preferably within the community care sector.
  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience managing teams, both remotely and face-to-face.
  3. Lived experience or previous experience with disability and accessibility issues would be highly desirable.
  4. Familiarity with traditional training and modern training methods, tools and techniques.
  5. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  6. Demonstrated ability to proactively maintain collaborative networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to interact at the Executive level.
  7. Proficiency with the MS Office Suite and LMS platforms
  8. Willingness and capacity to travel
