The Organisation:
Based in Inner East/City fringe and close to public transport, our client is a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation within a highly regulated environment. At the forefront of their sector, they have deep stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with them to focus on workforce needs and skills development with a national reach.

The Role:
Reporting to the COO, the Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance provides best practice governance, risk management and compliance services to the organisation. The position incorporates the role of company secretary, providing procedural, governance compliance and support to the Board and relevant sub committees.

It proactively supports the organisation’s strategic goals by ensuring it has the policies, practices, and processes to successfully deliver on its governance, risk, compliance and records management obligations.

In this role you will:  
  • Provide high quality advice, support and information to the Board, and relevant sub committees and the organisation regarding governance, risk management, compliance, insurance, contracts, general commercial transactions and legal services
  • Develop, implement and manage a risk management framework throughout the organisation, developing its risk appetite, and identifying key risks and the mechanisms needed to manage those risks
  • Ensure the organisation complies with its extensive compliance obligations as a not-for-profit entity as well as those resulting from its multiple funding agreements with the federal government.

The Person:  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  
  • An expert-level understanding of governance, risk, compliance and records management principles, legislation, and associated systems and practices, ideally in a highly regulated NFP environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an efficient company secretarial function to an organisation
  • The ability to build effective relationships at different levels with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives
  • The ability and experience to manage and mentor direct reporting roles and build an effective, high performing team.
  • CD Company Secretary and Governance qualifications (eg GAICD) or equivalent

The Offer:  

A salary of circa $150K, plus superannuation is on offer, commensurate with experience. Attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging and hybrid/WFH working options are also available.
