About the role

  • Part-time (3-4 days per week) permanent role, hybrid working arrangements on offer with majority working from home

ROLE

As Relationship Manager- Strategic Philanthropy you get to join this incredible team at an exciting time of transformation and investment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive Muscular Dystrophy’s philanthropy program with a focus on Major Gifts, working with their Fundraising Manager and CEO to cultivate meaningful relationships that drive financial support for their programs and initiatives.

This is an incredible opportunity to use your philanthropy experience, assist with developing their philanthropy strategy, take ownership of the major gifts portfolio and make a real impact on the organisation. 

The role would suit a dynamic, collaborative & experienced philanthropy fundraising professional with demonstrated expertise in securing major gifts that can innovate, collaborate, inspire and engage philanthropic partners in long-term, strategic relationships.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the CEO to manage donor relationships with ongoing awareness of risk, opportunity and financial sustainability.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals and partners aligned with MDNSW’s mission and values.
  • Proactively secure new philanthropic partnerships
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage philanthropic partners in long-term, strategic relationships.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to develop personalized reports, impact stories, and updates for philanthropic partners, demonstrating the tangible outcomes of their support.
  • Provide stewardship to philanthropic partners, ensuring regular communication, updates on program impact, and acknowledgment of contributions.
  • Identify funding opportunities and build persuasive cases of support.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent reporting. 

 

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong business acumen with strategic mindset
  • Similar experience in a philanthropy fundraising role with proven demonstrated success 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in a small, dynamic team environment.
  • Strong presentation skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Solutions focused with adaptable and flexible approach to work.
  • Approachable, engaging and down-to-earth with ability to inspire confidence and capable of stewarding change.
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Up-to date covid-19 vaccination
