About the role

Chief Operating Officer

St Anthony’s Family Care (SAFC) located at Croydon is a not-for-profit organisation which provides a range of services with a focus on children and young people with disabilities. Following a recent significant site redevelopment, the organisation is now turning towards a period of growth. As a result, we have created a new role for a permanent full-time Chief Operating Officer to oversee our client services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this key leadership role will have responsibility for SAFC’s Disability Services (EPIK & FORGE) and the Inclusive Early Learning Centre (Figtree ELC).

The successful applicant will be an integral part of the management team and will be responsible for day-to-day operations for all client services while contributing to the organisation’s future planning.

We are looking for an individual who will complement our already great team and will bring energy and fresh ideas to the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee client services day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness,
  • Drive operational performance and strategic impact,
  • Expand services through strong business development and referral pathways,
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all operational processes, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting,
  • Maintain and improve operational efficiencies, managing budgets and leading change initiatives,
  • Lead the Safeguarding Committee and ensure compliance with all legislation,
  • Lead and motivate a team of onsite and offsite staff, by providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive success,
  • Support Service Managers (two direct reports) to maintain compliance and accreditation with various external bodies,
  • Ensure effective professional development and performance management of staff,
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and respect within client services and the broader organisation,
  • Work collaboratively with the SAFC management team to uphold the organisation’s values and commitment to quality service provision while working towards achievement of strategic goals and growth.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years in the NDIS sector highly regarded,
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management, business administration, or a related field,
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to diverse audiences,
  • Precision-driven mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in all operational activities,
  • Aptitude to effectively manage financials, budgets, and compliance requirements,
  • A collaborative and responsive approach to leadership, and the ability to successfully lead teams and drive results,
  • A growth-oriented mindset with excellent networking abilities, and a proven record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders,
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocol,
  • Robust financial management skills, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets,
  • NSW Driver’s licence.
