About CMY

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.

 

About the Role

The CMSport Manager is responsible for planning, organising, leading and motivating teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality outcomes that align with the organisation’s strategic priorities.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strategic management experience in the sports sector.  The candidate must have a strong commitment to human rights, diversity and participation and understand the structural and individual barriers to sport participation and engagement for multicultural communities. They must also possess strong self-aware interpersonal skills and be a self-initiator who can get things done.

 

The CMSport Manager will:

  • provide strategic leadership in implementing strategies to support the sport sector in deepening inclusion practices that can be self-sustained.
  • Lead and support a small team to deliver tasks on time and on quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager and other Program Managers to ensure CMSports programs and initiatives are integrated and contain quality standards in making a difference in the lives of multicultural families and individual community members.
  • Skilfully manage a diverse range of stakeholders within and with-out the sports sector to create innovative collaborations.
  • Work in close partnership with sport organisations to understand their challenges and opportunities to develop meaningful inclusion practice.

 

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for diversity and inclusion, sport and making a meaningful impact in multicultural communities.

 

  • Hours: 38 hours per week (1.0 FTE), Full Time
  • Fixed Term: until 30th June 2026
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 7): $ $110,912.88 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)
  • Location: Carlton

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Passion to drive diversity and inclusion through innovative service offerings and strong project management experience.
  2. Initiative for identifying new opportunities and ability to forge strong relationships with strategic stakeholders
  3. Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports and business case;
  4. An ability to work both independently and within a team environment and collaborate effectively with peers across multiple regions.
