About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Resource Growth and Communications is a pivotal role in the strategic development and implementation of exciting new revenue generation programs, heightening the success of current projects and managing a team of dedicated, goal oriented professionals in fundraising, grant development and communications.

With a new strategic plan on the horizon, this is your opportunity to further the development of untied funding initiatives to enable IWDA to promote and deliver programs to support their end goal of gender equality for all. With your commitment to income generation, you will be required to think outside of the box to create opportunities to support and grow income through sheer tenacity and strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

The Director, Resource Growth and Communications is responsible for team leadership, identifying and securing untied funding opportunities whilst maintaining and growing existing key funding relationships with government and private trusts. Your team will also manage the suite of philanthropic givers, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and individual givers. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Oversight of Salesforce CRM including maintenance, growth and identification of opportunities
  • Drive the integration and effectiveness of IWDA’s fundraising and grant development functions to meet multi-year income strategies
  • Strategic planning in fundraising whilst collaborating with the Executive team to ensure your strategy aligns with organisational objectives
  • Developing innovative plans to open up opportunities to expand funding through new channels
  • Lead income planning and create ambitious yet achievable targets and KPIs

 

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a champion of gender equality, with your passion matching your high level of professionalism. You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive fundraising/philanthropic/grant development leadership
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering strategies which have directly resulted in significant increases in funding
  • The ability to work effectively with ELT and board level
  • Prior success leading communications functions which build recognition and influence of a brand targeting advocacy strategies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record working within women’s rights, international aid, climate action, education or similar would be highly advantageous
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or field experience)
