About the Role
The Family Violence Practitioner (Case Manager) work with degree of autonomy, exercising initiative and judgement to support and manage clients experiencing family violence through the life cycle of the client’s engagement with inTouch. Their role is to access, monitor, plan and manage cases, as well as advocating for and linking women who are experiencing family violence to appropriate services. They work closely with staff from other agencies to ensure the clients needs can be addressed in an integrated and coordinator manner.
Whilst the majority of casework is done by phone, the Practitioner is required to travel and provide face to face support and/or outreach as required.

Why we want you to join inTouch:
- Your ability to fluently speak in Arabic, Dari, Persian, Pashto, Hindi, Farsi or Thai
- Your demonstrated experience within the specialist family violence sector or working with those who have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence (telephone counselling advantageous)
- Your understanding of the specialist family violence sector in Victoria
- Your demonstrated understanding of Multi Agency Risk Assessment (MARAM) Framework training and its application in the context of Crisis Services or the willingness to undergo training at employment start
- Your understanding of contemporary family violence practice including the gendered nature of violence, social justice principles, crisis intervention and working with trauma.
- Your knowledge of state-based legislation that pertains to family violence, privacy and child protection legislation relevant to service delivery
- Your demonstrated ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment, including working within agreed timeline parameters
- Your well-developed oral and written communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of cultural and social groups
- Your ability to remain calm under pressure, with a flexible and positive approach
- Your high level of resilience and self-care practices in place
To be successful for the role you’ll also need:
- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as required for working within the Family Violence sector
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Adaptable to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
